  1. Try the tekton pillow or the sussie sport one i use this to camp and on road trips amazing and cost 10-15 dollars

  2. dude you need to be affiliate marketing the shit out of this video man! Throw some amazon affiliate links in that description for us and get you some money!

  3. Says everyone else reviewing gear worth hundreds but yet your second back pack was 315$? Yaaa that makes sense

  4. I have that cook set in my amazon cart. Will not be purchasing. I’m so glad I found this video. We are gearing up for our first trip. In July we’re backpacking the Porcupine Mountains of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

  5. I love all my budget gear. Sometimes you can get amazing deals on well known brands if you’re willing to get an older model. I do need to upgrade my sleeping pad. Thinking the Paria Outdoors Recharge XL for $100.

  6. Good video. In the backpacking community they say “buy once, cry once”… I also bought a bag I ended up replacing it with an osprey Exos 48. A cheap tent I replaced with a Marmot Tungsten. And I also have the LW210 for the summer 😂. Oh and is that West mountain shelter that you set your tent up in? No tents in trail shelters!! (Just teasing idc lol)

  7. The only budget item was the tent. Should rename this video, You can’t hike comfortably on a budget..

  8. Upgrade your misuse of the term ‘price point’ and speak proper English: just say ‘price’. Price point is a technical term and is not a synonym for price. See, if you do it right, you save the weight of all those unnecessary electrons and help keep my blood pressure down. And you’ll sound like you know what you’re talking about.

  9. 10:40 I still use my SleepInGo to this day.
I love the fact that it’s so light weight.
The trick is to not just inflate it, but to blow it up to a high pressure.

  10. You’re only an idiot for spending all the money you did on Amazon buying gear that you needed to replace right away instead of getting better informed advice before you started buying. If you bought it all at REI (or other similar dedicated retailer), with their satisfaction guarantee, you would have saved a lot of money even if the initial advice you got from them about recomended gear was wrong.

  11. My wife favorited that tent on Amazon because we’re gathering gear for a camping trip this year. After looking at the specs and reviews, it seemed like a solid choice, but I was still skeptical because of the price point. Your review is super helpful, and we will probably start out with that tent 😊

  12. The “so I went to REI” after the explanation of the horrible Amazon gear got me every time 😂

  13. Dude! Small world!
08:16 I just discovered your channel today and I spent a night in that very same shelter 3 days ago while soloing the SBM trail!

  14. Yea, i agree, when someone says "budget" sleeping bag and then says 190usd, then i realize, "budget" is relative. Someone may say 300usd is chump change, someone else it might be a months wages.

  15. Heyyy!! Glad to see someone else with a Kelty synthetic bag. I got the -7° C mummy bag and it stuffs nicely (barely lol) into my bottom compartment, and weighs like 3 lbs which is fine. My whole bag weighs maybe 25-30 lbs
